FOGWA’s primary objective is to organise social events which allow parents, staff and pupils to socialise in a fun and relaxed environment whilst raising funds which will contribute towards items benefiting pupils throughout the school.

These items are the ‘icing on the cake’ and would not usually form part of the school budget but are deemed invaluable in assisting teachers in enhancing your children’s learning experience in a structured and fun way.

Last year FOGWA raised and spent £14,809 on various items including tools for Forest School, cameras to record your child’s development, musical instruments and funds towards the school garden, which are now being budgeted and allocated to garden supplies by the children themselves!

The committee is made up of parents and staff who volunteer their time to co-ordinate and organise social events, with the full support of Mr Baty and his team at Great Walstead, where parents, teachers and pupils can meet outside of the formal school environment.

You will also see FOGWA members helping out at the school open mornings, Headmaster’s receptions and serving coffee before chapel, sports days and at school concerts.

We keep in touch with parents through the class rep network, the school office and the FOGWA notice board to the right of the welcome doors so please keep a look out for upcoming events and requests for volunteers!
